Long time WPPA coach and board member, David Locks, passed away on December 6.

David was instrumental in assisting the league in becoming a recognized charitable organization and obtaining tax-exempt status. He was also a driving force behind the start of WPPA’s Liberty League. He was a great role model for our youth and will be remembered for his high level of sportsmanship and integrity. Perhaps his biggest gift to the league was his 2 sons, Josh and Benji. Both of his kids were great players over the years and terrific sportsman that grew up playing ball at Welles Park. David, along with his wife Fran, spent many years helping the league any way they could. Josh is now the head of the umpires for the league and provides all of the training and coordination across WPPA for umps, a fantastic continuation of his dad’s legacy on making WPPA a special organization.

David will be missed and all of the WPPA community is sending their thoughts to the Locks family.
