It is hard to believe, but we only have a couple of weeks left in the regular season before house playoffs begin (all levels except Rookie and Liberty).  We have a number of updates related to the end of the year, fall ball and next year, so apologies for length, but there’s a lot of good stuff going on at the WPPA!

  • Dedication of Welles 4 as Ceannaich Ryan Field.  As many of you know, long-time coach, volunteer and board member, Ceannaich Ryan recently passed away.  In honor of his many contributions to the WPPA, we will be dedicating Welles 4 as Ceannaich Ryan Field.  We will have a ceremony June 22 at 10:45a for the dedication.  Game schedules for Rookie, Major and Senior games will be adjusted to allow players, coaches and families to attend.
  • Photo Makeup.  If you missed your team photos earlier this year, we will be holding a makeup June 26, 5-7pm near the Welles Gazebo. No need to register for a time, but to facilitate delivery of your photos to you, please fill out this form with your name, team info and mailing address.
  • End of Year Celebration.  Our annual celebration is set for Saturday, July 13.  You can see the schedule of events on our website.  Our end of year celebration includes All-Star Games, Home Run Derbies, Season Awards, League Awards, and back once again, a Coaches’ game (more details on this soon).  It’s an awesome way to come and celebrate our community.  Please note that our celebration this year is the same weekend as Square Roots, so parking will be limited.
  • WPPA Annual Awards.  We are looking for nominations for the WPPA Annual Awards.  Specifically, we welcome nominations for coach and umpires (baseball and softball).  Please email your nominations to
  • WPPA Board Members for 2025.  As many of you know, we are a completely volunteer driven league – which includes our dedicated and amazing WPPA Board.  We have some spots that are open for the 2025 board.  If you are interested, please reach out to me at
  • Fall Ball Registration.  Fall Ball Registration will open TOMORROW, June 8. Fall Ball is a great opportunity for players who want to play more and play with friends, and has become very popular over the past several years.  Please be sure to check the age requirements and sign up for the right division.  By popular demand, we will once again host a rookie fall ball clinic, details and registration to come on that.  As a reminder, fall ball registration is different than house, so please be sure to read the registration notes carefully.

  • Travel Tryouts for 2025.  Tryouts for travel baseball and softball will be held in mid-July, exact dates TBD, but stay tuned for further announcements soon.
  • Liberty Baseball Registration.  The Liberty season is once again upon us.  We had 7 teams sign up to play Liberty baseball this summer.  It is really amazing to see the WPPA program stretch from our Rookie ball all the way to high schoolers that still want to be a part of this league.  Thank you, Commissioner Steve Holowka, for all you do!

Finally, as the regular season winds down and playoffs begin, please remember that this is youth sports. There will be no pro scouts at our playoffs, no scholarships awarded, and our umpires are human beings that make mistakes.  The parent code of conduct is worth a review before you cheer on your players in the playoffs.

Thank you to all of our families, players, and dedicated volunteers who make all of this possible.
