House Playoff News and Notes
For many of our divisions, the regular season is now over, and we are headed to the Playoffs. As we do so, pleas remember that this is youth sports. Umpires and players will make mistakes, and that’s OK. The goal of our program is to teach baseball and softball fundamentals and good sportsmanship in a positive and enjoyable atmosphere. We encourage everyone to review the parent code of conduct before you cheer on your players in the playoffs.
You can track all the playoff progress on your respective division’s standings and schedule page, where the brackets have been posted.
Finally, some end of season things to keep an eye on:
- WPPA Board Members for 2026. We are still looking for volunteers for next year’s board. We have baseball and softball commissioner spots open as well as some other board positions If you are interested, please reach out to President@wppachicago.org
- Travel Tryouts for 2026. Registration for tryouts for both baseball and softball is OPEN.
- Fall Ball Registration. Fall Ball Registration is OPEN. Fall Ball is a great opportunity for players who want to play more and play with friends, and has become very popular over the past several years. TBD on a Rookie Fall Ball clinic this year, but we’re working on it!
- End of Year Celebration. Our annual celebration is set for Saturday, July 12. You can see the schedule of events on our website. Our end of year celebration includes All-Star Games, Home Run Derbies, Season Awards, League Awards, and back once again, a Coaches’ game. Please note that our celebration this year is the same weekend as Square Roots, so parking will be limited.
